Stepping Stones Quilts is a complete quilt shop, offering fabrics, notions, patterns, books, and many interesting and fun classes. We have the largest inventory of cotton in SE Georgia! We carry most of the traditional fabrics, as well as many exotics - hand dyed, hand marbled, batiks, Ikat, painted, novelty, even Kinte prints from Africa! We sell fabric from 1/8th-yard cuts to entire bolts & Stepping Stones can ship your order to anywhere in the world. (Of course we take phone orders and your Visa or MasterCard are always welcome). We also have several thousand 'Fat Quarters' and 'Fat Sixteenths' in stock at all times. We've recently formed a Fabric Lover's Club. Members receive a dozen 4" fabric swatches, a quilt pattern, and a newsletter each month. It's a great way to see the latest fabric lines, and it's only $18 per year! And now Chris has taken up refurbishing older Singer sewing Machines, including the famous model 221 - "Featherweight". We usually have several machines in stock - they've been thoroughly reconditioned and come with a One-Year warranty. Plus, we now carry parts for the Featherweight and many other older Singer machines.

Our quilt shop is located on St. Simons Island, one of Georgia's beautiful coastal barrier islands. These barrier islands have a colorful history, predating the colonial times. This island, in particular, saw several battles between the English and Spanish in the mid 1700's, the influence of cotton and rice plantations in the early 1800's, the trials of the Civil War, and after war rebuilding. The island became a popular year-around vacation spot in the late 1800's and is now home to some 16,000 year-around residents. White, sandy beaches merge with miles and miles of tidal sea marsh -The Marshes of Glynn, made familiar in a poem of the same name by Sydney Lanier.

St. Simons Island is a short drive across a causeway from Brunswick, GA, which is about half way between Savannah and Jacksonville, FL. Easy exits off of I-95 and well marked routes to the J. Torras Causeway make for an enjoyable side trip for travelers going to/from Florida. Directions Our shop is located on Skylane, off of Demere Road, about 1 1/4 miles east of the Demere/Frederica Road intersection. The island has many quaint shops and attractions to occupy any 'non-quilters' in your group. For golfers, the area boasts several of the best golf courses in the country, with the 4 1/2 star Osprey Cove GC just a short drive south. There is lodging available here all year-around, with amenities to suit any budget. And with over 50 restaurants on the island, you won't go hungry! ... Thanks for stopping by our web page and we hope to see you soon! Kind regards, Chris & Connie Vagtborg
